You Go Girl(s)! Penn State’s Women’s Volleyball Squad Gets The Four-Peat
In a heated East Coast/West Coast battle for the title, The Penn State Nittany Lions claimed their 4th consecutive National Championship Saturday nite, sweeping a fiery Cal squad that looked to end Penn State’s ridiculous run.
Instead, the Penn State senior class had plans of their own, which included capping off their careers with their fourth title, giving them a national championship for every year they competed. Setting an NCAA record. Must be nice.
Penn State’s Blair Brown and Freshman of the Year Deja McClendon were too much for the west coast powerhouse, which featured the nation’s top setter Carli Lloyd and top outside hitter Tarah Murrey.
It took the Nittany Lions only 3 games to dispose of the Bears and claim their title, which now has Penn State head coach Russ Rose already thinking about a 5th consecutive trophy.
While those of us on the best coast hoped for a Cal victory, it quickly became clear that the current volleyball powerhouse, remains in Pennsylvania.
