After capturing the doubles title with her sister, Serena Williams proved yet again that she can also do her thing solo dolo, winning the Australian Open for the 5th time in her career after defeating Justine Henin in 3 sets. The win, which made it back-to-back crowns down under, gives Serena the record for most Aussie Open titles and is also her 12th Grand Slam title in her career, tying her for 6th place with Billie Jean King for the most all-time. Serena still has a lot of great tennis left to be played but she is only halfway to the women’s record of 24 Grand Slam victories held by Margaret Court.

To celebrate the Aussie Open win Serena (and Venus) will be mashing down to Miami for the Super Bowl festivities. The sister have a minor ownership in the Dolphins and will be chilling in their home arena to watch the Saints and Colts do work.

A few pics displaying the magnitude of Serena’s (heavily-bandaged) cheeks after the jump…

Cheek levitation.
