Vikings Fans Show Brett Favre They Are Still Rolling

In case you were wondering if Vikings fans gave Brett Favre a pass for tricking off the NFC Championship nearly 2 weeks ago–they are. Granted at this point their options are quite limited if Favre decides to really chunk the proverbial deuces. A contingent of the purple & gold (aka that Chick Hearn special), numbering more than 80,000 on Facebook chipped in to purchase the electronic billboard.
The Facebook group’s founder, Jay Tappe of Minneapolis, said he started the group because he was crushed after the roughing up Favre received during the Saints game on Jan. 24, and wanted to turn the disappointment into something positive.
Tappe said he googled the number of Brett Favre fans in Minnesota and came up with a name for his group.
The “4 million Vikings fans want Brett Favre back in Minnesota for 2010″ group on Facebook had around 6,000 members only a day later.
As has been the case for most of the 21st Century, every offseason is devoted to potential Favre retirement coverage, as the action is generally slower across the league. After playing yet another season in full Favre showed that he still has the will do get the job done, and is going out way sicker than Michael Jordan did, when he quietly faded to black with the Wizards. The Vikings options sans Favre are Tarvaris Jackson, who is still raw like an Eddie Murphy comedy show and Sage Rosenfels, who is whatevs, but does have some experience running the show.
