Michael Irvin almost got booted off of Dancing With The Stars, but thanks to the fans, he gets a chance to see another day. He almost brought shame to all the other former and current (Jason Taylor) NFL players who participated in the show.

NFL Week 4 Recap: The Sanchize Is Human!

With Mike Vick and them got the week off but there was still some solid games around the League.
Saints 24, Jets 10 – Mark Sanchez had a tough one. After doing work in his first 3 games, he finally got dominated by an NFL defense. Sanchez was clowned the whole game, throwing 3 picks (one to the house) and fumbling in the endzone for another TD. The Saints offense on the other hand, looked pretty nasty. Drew Brees didn’t throw a TD pass for the 2nd game in a row. But the Saints are 4-0 for the first time since 1993, so it’s whatevs.
Patriots 27, Ravens 21 – Wes Welker’s return help spark a Patriots offense that had been struggling as Tom Brady won his 18th straight home game to help the New England give the Ravens their first loss of the season. Randy Moss’ TD reception in late in the 3rd quarter gave him 137 for his career, passing the legend Marshall Faulk for 6th all-time. The Ravens allowed 2 rush TD in the game, snapping a 4 game streak.
Bengals 23, Browns 20 – The Bengals won their 3rd straight game and if it not for that Brandon Stokley crazy TD in their Week 1 loss vs the Broncos, they would be undefeated. Dating back to last season, the Bengals have won 6 of their last 7 games. The Browns looked terrible once again, going 0-4 for the 1st time since 1999. They are also in the midst of a 10 game losing streak, with no end in sight.
Broncos 17, Cowboys 10 – After all of his shenanigans in the preseason, Brandon Marshall is the deal. One of the most dominating receivers in the League, Marshall’s 51 yard TD in the 4th quarter gave the Broncos their first 4-0 start since in 6 years. Josh McDaniels has taken over the helm as the sickest rookie head coach in the NFL.
Colts 34, Seahawks 17 – Peyton Manning is playing like an MVP through the first 4 games this season. The legend threw his 342nd touchdown pass in the game, which puts him in a tie with Fran Tarkenton for 3rd place all time. The Colts start the season 4-0 for the 5th time in the last 7 seasons and they have won their last 13 regular season games.
NCAA Football Rankings: Gators Still The ‘Ish

This week our allegiance has shifted to the USA Today poll because Florida has the most first place votes. The Gators battled a illness and and a Tebow concussion and still managed to smash Kentucky. They are still far and away the best team in college football.
Both polls have the same top 9 teams but the AP decided to put Cincy in the mix while USA Today was rolling with TCU. We think both those teams are kind of boo boo but have the potential to stick around based on wack schedules for the remainder of the season.
Virginia Tech jumped 5 spots to #6 after smashing the U 31-7 at home. The U got dropped all the way to #17, but has a chance for redemption as they get #8 Oklahoma and the possible return of Sam Bradford, this weekend.
Even though LSU and Boise State both won they each got moved up by default, with 4 top 10 teams losing this past week. Va Tech should have easily jumped both of these teams considering they handled a much tougher opponent. LSU almost lost at Mississippi State and Boise State doesn’t have a respectable game for the remainder of their season. No more courtesy jumps please.
USC really got screwed with Cal’s upset at Oregon. Facing the Golden Bear this Saturday in Berkeley, the Trojans could have used a game against a top-5 ranked Cal team, that would have moved up if they didn’t get serviced. Coming off a humiliating loss to Oregon, look for Cal to give ‘SC their 2nd loss in the last 3 weeks. The Pac-10 is going to be boo boo this year, with the winner having at least 2 losses.

College Football Saturday Preview…

With #4 Ole Miss already getting upset this weekend we look ahead to a pretty uneventful Saturday schedule in terms of quality matchups, but there is still the potential for some of the higher-ranked teams to trick off what we’d consider a cake game.
Game of the Weekend: #9 Miami (Fl) vs #11 Va Tech (12:30p PT) -This is the 3rd of 4 straight games that the U has against top 15 opponents. After looking solid in their first 2 victories with the emergence of Jacory Harris and a solid defensive the unit, the ‘Canes look to remain unblemished on the season and in the ACC Coastal division with this tough road game. Va Tech might not have an answer for Miami’s offensive weaponry, which is putting up 35.5 points and 465 yards per game thus far. While we can’t say we are absolutely rolling with the U at this point, if they pull off the win in Blacksburg, they should definitely jump to the top 5. If Jacory has another solid game, he should be a legitimate heisman contender.
Upset Alert: #6 Cal vs Oregon (12:30p PT) - Jahvid Best is a beast. 9 TD’s (8 rushing, 1 receiving) through the first 3 games. QB Kevin Riley has also looked solid this season, 5 TD passes with no interceptions…not too shabby. But ever since the Boise State debacle, Oregon has looked pretty solid, upsetting #18 Utah at home last week. It’s always tough playing in Autzen stadium, where the Ducks enjoy a strong homefield advantage. If Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli can just play solid and not try to do too much, the Ducks can pull off the upset and start their conference schedule off on the right foot.
Where’s Tebow?: #1 Florida vs Kentucky (3p PT) – The Gators have won 22 straight games against Kentucky, this one will probably make it 23. Even though the Gators are battling the swine flu with nearly a dozen players and coaches suffering from symptoms, Tebow will not allow his squad to trick this one off.
WTF! #24 Washington vs Stanford (6p PT) - Even though we are rolling with Husky QB Jake Locker (aka the Westcoast Tebow) the fact that this game is for 1st in the Pac-10 is pretty unbelievable. Washington should win the game but you never know what you’re going to get when you’re playing against squares.

Jets 38 – Eagles 27: Mike Vick showed signs of brilliance and he showed some signs of rust. He didn’t play nearly as good as other the Eagles backup Kevin Kolb, but boy was he exciting to watch. Check the highlight link to see all of Vick’s snaps.
Seahawks 31 – Raiders 21: We really don’t think the Raiders are going to win a game this season. Nobody on their squad looks good…1st string, 2nd string, the dudes that are about to get cut. Nobody! The Raiders are going to be this year’s Lions.
Lions 17 – Bills 6: Preseason or not, you know you suck when the Lions are beating you by double digits. Both of the Bills QB’s sucked, both completed barely over 50% of their passes, and they had 0 TD’s and 1 INT. TO is not going to be happy this season.
