Dragic and Vujacic Get Into Some Gangsta ‘Ish

The ongoing battle between Slovenian natives Goran Dragic and Sasha Vujacic, got ugly Saturday night as The Lake Show clinched the series. Following one of your sicker step-back jumpers right in Vujacic’s grill (aka a “Grill Sandwich), Dragic talked a little too much heat and got binged by the back of Sasha’s arm, in a deliberate retaliation. Dragic may have put some extras on it by falling to the floor and pretending to be seriously injured, but flopping is the Euro way.
The Beef dates back to at least this past summer when Dragic and other Slovenian National team players were instrumental in getting Vujacic booted from the squad for being way too “Hollywood.” Normally when 2 Euros from the same country play against each other in a situation like this, they will show some form of courtesy, but such has not been the case in the Vujacic-Dragic war.
It doesn’t help that Dragic has been balling out for the Suns throughout the postseason, whilst Sasha has spent the majority spectating on the sideline. But in Sasha’s defense, the Lakers are going to the finals which means he still has a chance to get some of that shine back.

AZ Immigration Law Protest At Lakers-Suns Game

Prior to the Lakers Game 1 victory over Los Suns, a group of Latino activists decided to exercise their right to congregate, mashing to Staples Center to protest against some remarks Phil Jackson made in regards to Arizona passing that shady immigration law SB 1070. Jackson released a statement Monday urging that both squads be allowed to focus on hooping and not get thrown into all this political mambo jahambo.
Whilst some argue that sports and politics shouldn’t mix, there are some instances when they will inevitably cross paths, as any ballertician will tell you. Another solid video of the protest after the jump…
JC Spottings: Western Conference Finals Game 1

From the looks of it, actor David Arquette thoroughly enjoyed the Lakers thrashing of Los Suns in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Although Arquette appeared to be drinking a bottled water earlier in the game, there might have been a little crunk juice sprinkled in there. Arquette was just one of the many legends in attendance to see Kobe and company do work after a solid week’s worth of rest.

Ewww: One-Eyed Steve Nash Helps Suns Sweep Spurs

Is it just me or is Steve Nash starting to look old like Betty White? The dude has gotten grizzled the past few seasons, mainly from suffering brutal grill injuries like this one Sunday night from a Tim Duncan elbow. Initially it didn’t look that bad, but the gash kept bleeding and required stitches, puffing up and turning purpler than some grape drank.
Nash did manage to put it down for Los Suns, accomplishing what many thought was impossible in sweeping one of their biggest rivals and postseason obstacles. Now Nash and the rest of his squad get to chill for a few as the Lakers try to close out a Jazz squad that might be able to pull a courtesy win out of there behinds and extend the series just a tad bit longer.

In The Face: Amar’e Stoudemire Strikes Again

Dunk Score: 9.5
While Suns fans were busy getting punked by the Jazz’s Mascot during the regular-season finale, Amar’e Stoudemire was busy giving Kosta Koufos some nuts on his chin. And no those are not called “chin nuts,” contrary to popular belief. Stoudemire has been catching dudes slipping all season, pretty much any time that he is around the basket, he is looking to demoralize. Koufos tried to play solid defense on this possession but once Amar’e got near his target, nothing was getting in the way of a solid bang out. Somebody please wipe Koufos’ grill.
In The Face: Corey Brewer Strikes Again

Dunk Score: 9.8
After demoralizing Lakers guard Derek Fisher earlier this season in what could have been the dunk of the year if D-Fish was just a little bit taller and then proceeding to get banged on viciously by Tony Allen, T-Wolves guard Corey Brewer is back on the right side of the tracks, yamming all over the life of the Suns 7-foot center Robin Lopez. After Brewer gets the ball on the fastbreak, Lopez does his best to try and get back to block the dunk attempt but finds out that sometimes your best isn’t enough to avoid getting sharted on. Brewer just barely gets the ball over Lopez’s outstretched arms, but finishes with authority. Guaranteed Robin’s brother Brook also felt this horrific facial, as apart of that whole twins sixth sense thingy.
In The Face: Amar’e Stoudemire Is A Grown Azz Man

Dunk Score: 9.7
It’s a good bet that Spurs guard Richard Jefferson probably got a bunch of calls, texts and bbm’s from friends and family wondering what the hell he was thinking trying to block Amar’e Stoudemire’s dunk attempt. Odds are he wasn’t thinking, “damn, this dude is about to shart all over my life,” or else he would have just done the safe thing and moved out the way. Instead Jefferson will be the subject of ridicule for the foreseeable future and should think twice next time he tries to get some heart against a freak of nature like Stoudemire.
Spotted: Steve Nash Chops Game At Sundance

In case you didn’t know, Suns guard Steve Nash is versatile like a flexible side-boo. When he isn’t on the court diming like a well-paid snitch, ala Bubbles, Nash is in front of or behind the camera producing some of you more hilarious/entertaining pieces for both Vitaminwater and just for shits and giggles with his teammates. The second-best thing to come out of Canada since Alex Trebek decided to get his Vinny Chase on, heading to the Sundance Film Festival in conjuction with ESPN Original Films. Nash is currently directing a documentary for ESPN’s 30 for 30 on Canadian legend Terry Fox, which is scheduled to be released some time in September.
During the interview Nash also admitted that he will be starring in yet another Vitaminwater commercial, that is scheduled to run during All-Star weekend. Nash wasn’t very forthcoming about exactly what is cracking in the commercial, but if it’s anything like some of his previous work, it should be hysterical.
