NFL Week 10 Recap

Belichick’s Muscle shoves a cameraman out of the way following the loss.
Colts 35, Patriots 34 - It’s being dubbed the Rivalry of the Decade and Sunday night just added to the lore. The Colts were riding a 17 game winning streak and with the win have tied the Patriots for the 3rd longest streak in NFL history. We know one thing for watching this game…Bill Belichick has a lot of balls. leading by 6 points and with no timeouts Belichick decided to go for it on 4th & 2 at the Patriots own 28. What appeared to be a first down was ruled short by officials and Peyton Manning was basically handed the game. Even though Manning had already threw a few picks in the game Belichick made the right move. He knew no matter where Manning got the ball at he was going to bust the Patriots secondary’s asses and get into the endzone.
Bengals 18, Steelers 12 - The Who Dey! phenomenon is growing by the week. Even though he got suspended from school we’re sure the kid who got the Bengals “B” cut into his dome last week is cheesin’ like Chuck E. The Bengals solidified their position atop the AFC North with the win, sweeping the Steelers for the first time since 1998 and improving to 5-0 in the division for the first time in franchise history. Along with the Colts and Patriots, they are a Top 3 team in the AFC at this point in the season.
Saints 28, Rams 23 - Drew Brees and company continue to ball out, granted it was against the Rams but they don’t make the schedule. The Saints are off to their first 9-0 start in franchise history. Reggie Bush did a little bit of work with 85 yards and a TD on 6 carries. With the win the Saints improved to 4-0 on the road this season.
Vikings 27, Lions 10 - In another battle of good team vs shitty team, Brett Favre and the Vikes easily disposed of the divsion rival pushover Lions. Favre went 20-29 for 344 yards and a TD and AP did his usual thug thizzle rushing for 133 yards and 2 TD. Peterson has had a cause of the fumbles lately, coughing up 2 in the game, but it mattered not because the Vikings defense is legit.

NFL Week 9 Recap

November 9, 2009

Saints 30, Panthers 20 - Every week we expect a dropoff from the Saints and every week we are pleasantly disappointed. Both sides of the ball are doing their proverbial thang and the team is off to the first 8-0 start in franchise history. Drew Brees did his usually work with 330 pass yards and a TD but also thew a pick in the game. The Saints have won every type of way this season and despite trailing 14-0 early in the game, they were able to bounce back like Rob Lowe.
Colts 20, Texans 17 - Peyton Manning and Jim Caldwell have kept it rolling since the departure of Tony Dungy, reeling off 17 straight wins to become just the 4th team in NFL history to accomplish the feat. Manning finished the game with 40,299 career passing yards, becoming the 1st player in NFL history to throw for more than 40 G’s in any decade. Now that’s Pimpin!
Bengals 17, Ravens 7 - The Who Dey nation is starting to crack a smile and believe in Marvin Lewis’ squad as they continue to win. The Bengals are 4-0 in the AFC North and face the Steelers next week with the opportunity to clinch the division. Cedric Benson continued his servicing of the Ravens defense. After snapping the Ravens 39 game streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher in Week 5, Benson did it again with 117 yards and a TD on 34 carries. The Bengals are poised to break the Hard Knocks curse, and a playoff berth appears inevitbale.
Cowboys 20, Eagles 16 - The Cowboys have won 4 straight games and came up big with this huge divisional win that puts them atop the NFC East. The Eagles blew some golden opportunities and couldn’t convert in short yardage downs. Tony Romo improved to 13-1 in the month of November, and Wade Phillips is off the hot seat for about a week.

NFL Week 8 Recap: Favre Clowns Packers At Lambeau
Posted by BROSEFOLOPHOGUS on
November 2, 2009

Vikings 38, Packers 26 - After his unceremonious departure from Green Bay following the 2007 season, Brett Favre finally got to live out a moment that he has surely been dreaming about ever since Ted Thompson and the Packers management told the Hall of Famer to holler back and shipped him to the Jets. Favre got the chance to come back to Lambeau Field and serve the Pack with a cherry on top during the Vikings victory, sweeping the season series. Favre threw a season-high 4 TD passes and tied Dan Marino’s record with his 21st game with 4+ pass TD game.
Favre was met with a chorus of boos as he took the field before the game and afterwards as he walked off triumphantly into the night. This was proabably Favre’s last game ever in Lambeau and he went out like a legend.
A special unome! goes out to former UCLA linebacker Spencer Havner, who currently splits time at his natural position as well as a blocking tight end for the Packers. Havner’s 2 TD receptions in the game, gives him 3 in the last 2 games. Not too shabby for a guy who only played on the defensive side of the ball in college.
Ravens 30, Broncos 7 - After riding a perfect 6-0 record into their bye week, the Broncos appeared ready for a letdown heading into Baltimore. The Ravens had lost their past 3 games heading into the matchup and a defense that has as many killers as they do, it can only mean trouble. The Ravens locked-out the Broncos offense holding them to season lows of 7 points and 200 total yards of offense (134 passing, 66 rushing).
Eagles 40, Giants 17 - The Giants suffered their 3rd consecutive loss after starting the season 5-0. Eli Manning has been the catalyst to the G-Men’s recent nastiness, throwing 6 interceptions in his last 3 games and looking pretty much ineffective. Donovan McNabb continued to ball and 2nd year wide receiver DeSean Jackson and scored his 6th TD this season of 50+ yards. The dude is a beast, to say the least.

Steelers 27, Vikings 17 - The Steelers defense came up huge, scoring 14 points off of Brett Favre turnovers to hand the Vikings their first loss of the season. Ben Roethlisberger and the offense played a little sloppy but came up with some huge plays in the first half, including a 40 yard touchdown pass to rookie Mike Wallace towards the end of the 1st half. The last 21 points of the game all came in the 4th quarter off of return TD’s of 75+ yards, which is the first time that has happened in an NFL game…Double care!
Saints 46, Dolphins 34 - The Saints are off to one of their best starts in franchise history, going 6-0 for on the 2nd time in team history (1991). After trailing by 10 entering the 4th quarter, Drew Brees did it in the air and the ground as the Saints put up the last 22 points in the game. Ricky Williams balled out for the Dolphins, rushing for 3 TD for the first time since 2000. Saints Safety Darren Sharper scored his 11th interception return TD of his career, only one shy of tying Hall of Famer Rod Woodson’s record.
Bengals 45, Bears 10 - Apparently the only team who think dey gonna beat them Bengals are the Broncos and Texans, as the squad got another win to improve to 5-2. Carson Palmer had 5 TD passes, Cedric Benson rushed for a career high 187 yards and Ochocinco added 2 TD receptions in the game. The cats have been on a roll, winning 8 of their last 10 games and moving into serious discussion to take the AFC North crown away from the Steelers.
Cardinals 24, Giants 17 - The Cardinals secondary had Eli Manning’s number today, picking off Peyton’s little bro 3 times, including Antrel Rolle game-winning interception during a Giants drive with about a minute remaining in the game. After an unceremonious exit from the G-Men a few years back, Kurt Warner threw for 231 yards a TD and an interception against his former squad.

![]()
Saints 48, Giants 27 - After slacking for the previous 2 games Saints QB Drew Brees was back on his grind, demoralizing the G-Men’s defense to the tune of 369 passing yards and 4 TD. The Saints are off to their first 5-0 start since 1993 and snapped a 5 game losing streak in games following a bye. Meanwhile the Giants defense allowed 493 total yards, which is the most that they have given up since 1988.
Vikings 33, Ravens 31 - Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson continue to dominate the NFL, as the Vikings are off to their first 6-0 start since 2003. This is the first time in Favre’s career that he has won 6 straight games as the starter and the old head continued to utilize as the Vikes weapons, passing for 278 yards and 3 TD, while Peterson rushed for 143 yards. Sidney Rice had a breakout game with a career-high 176 receiving yards on 6 catches. The Ravens continue to struggle, losing their last 3 games after starting the season 3-0.
Patriots 59, Titans 0 - After a spanking like this, Jeff Fisher might be getting the boot at the end of the season. The Titans continued sucking as the Patriots finally clicked on all cylinders and Tom Brady brought back flashes of 2007. Brady’s 5 TD passes in the 2nd quarter alone set an NFL record for any quarter in League history and his 6 total tied his own franchise record. Randy Moss finally came to play as well, catching 3 TD passes as well as putting up 129 receiving yards. The 59 point margin of defeat is tied for the largest since the 1970 merger.
Falcons 21, Bears 14 - Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense used a no-huddle scheme for most of the game to squeak out this nail-biter in the Georgia Dome. The Bears blew golden opportunities to send the game to OT including a Matt Forte fumble on 3rd & Goal at the 1 and an Orlando Pace false start on a 4th & 1 in the final moments of the game. Jay Cutler responded from some early mistakes to lead his team down the field but the Bears could not punch in any of these opportunities.
Bills 16, Jets 13 OT - All the fanfare that surrounded the Jets 3-0 start and christening of Mark Sanchez as this year’s Matt Ryan have began to fade. After a poor showing against the Dolphins on Monday night, the Dirty continued to slump. With 5 interceptions in the game Sanchez has thrown 8 total in the last 3 games with just one TD pass. After taking the lead early the Jets faltered in the back half of the game, getting outscored 13-0 in the final 2 quarters and OT.

College Football Saturday: #4 Hokies Upset

#19 Georgia Tech 28, #4 Virgina Tech 23 - The Yellow Jackets used their legendary offense to win the Tech(mo) Bowl in front of the home crowd. Georgia Tech QB (if you can call him that) Josh Nesbitt rushed for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns while only completing one pass (on 7 attempts) all game. The Yellow Jackets snapped a streak of 17 straight home losses against opponents ranked in the Top 5.
This is the second Va Tech slip up in the state of Georgia this season, losing to Alabama in their opener at the Georgia Dome. The Hokies second loss creates a logjam in the ACC Coastal division, with the 3 ranked teams (Georgia Tech, Miami, Va Tech) all with one loss and trailing Virginia for tops. Considering that Virginia still has all 3 of these squads on the schedule, it’s safe to say that the Cavaliers will lose at least 2 (if not all 3) of those games and drop from contention.
#6 USC 34, #25 Notre Dame 27 - The Trojans defense came up huge in the final moments of the game, forcing Jimmy Clausen to throw 3 incompletions in the end zone to preserve the victory. USC made it 8 straight wins against Notre Dame, but the Irish showed a lot of heart after getting absolutely smashed by the Trojans in the previous 2 seasons. Pete Carroll’s squad kept their Natty hopes alive with the win and freshman QB Matt Barkley continued his solid play, passing for 380 yards and 2 touchdowns and already getting wins at Ohio State, Cal and Notre Dame. Not too shabby young fella.
#1 Florida 23, Arkansas 20 - Urban Meyer’s squad almost tricked this one off and should suffer in the polls as a result of this close victory (just less first place votes). The Razorbacks forced 4 turnovers (all fumbles) and had an opportunity late in the game to take the lead, but kicker Alex Tejada missed a field goal, which allowed Tim Tebow and the Gators offense to march down the field and hit a field goal of their own.
Arkansas QB Ryan Mallet (Michigan transfer) looked like a pro making sharp passes en route to 224 passing yards and a TD. Tebow threw for 255 yards and a TD as well as rushing for 69 yards as the Gators extended the longest win streak in the nation to 16 games.

NFL Week 5 Recap: The Broncos Are Legit

![]()
Broncos 20, Patriots 17 OT - Anakin got the best of Yoda in this one, as Josh McDaniels and the Broncos continue to be the surprise team in the NFL this season. When Shanahan and Cutler were shown the door this offseason, many thought that the Broncos season was donezo. But the squad is off to their first 5-0 start in more than 10 years and every week seem to pull out incredible wins. Brandon Marshall added to his Pro Bowl resume with 2 touchdown receptions and Kyle Orton improved to 18-2 as a starter at home.
Bengals 17, Ravens 14 – Each of the Bengals first 4 games of the season have been decided by 7 points or fewer, so why would this game against the AFC North rival Ravens be any different for the cardiac cats. With the win the Bengals now have as many wins (4) as they did for the entire 2008 season. Carson Palmer engineered his 3rd straight 4th Qtr/OT comeback and Cedric Benson’s 120 rush yards snapped a 39-game streak by the Ravens defense without allowing a 100-yard rusher. The Bengals take over the lead in the AFC North but we are sure the Ravens and Steelers will try to make sure that doesn’t last too long.
Vikings 38, Rams 10 – Everyone knows that the Rams suck but the Vikings might be the best team in football right now. The defense, led by sackmaster Jared Allen, has been shutting down all comers, not allowing a rushing touchdown all season. The offense hasn’t been too shabby either, putting up 27+ points in every game in 2009. The Men in Purple remain undefeated on the season as Brett Favre became the 12th quarterback in NFL history to start a game at the age of 40.
Eagles 33, Buccaneers 14 – Donovan McNabb was back in action after missing 2 games from a rib injury he suffered during the season opener. D-Mac didn’t show any signs of rust passing for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Eagles easily disposed of the slumping Bucs. Mike Vick managed to get a little burn in this one, rushing 4 times for 10 yards and going 1-3 for 1 yard in the air. Rookie Jeremy Maclin looked impressive as well catching the first 2 touchdown passes of his career.

NFL Week 4 Recap: The Sanchize Is Human!

With Mike Vick and them got the week off but there was still some solid games around the League.
Saints 24, Jets 10 - Mark Sanchez had a tough one. After doing work in his first 3 games, he finally got dominated by an NFL defense. Sanchez was clowned the whole game, throwing 3 picks (one to the house) and fumbling in the endzone for another TD. The Saints offense on the other hand, looked pretty nasty. Drew Brees didn’t throw a TD pass for the 2nd game in a row. But the Saints are 4-0 for the first time since 1993, so it’s whatevs.
Patriots 27, Ravens 21 – Wes Welker’s return help spark a Patriots offense that had been struggling as Tom Brady won his 18th straight home game to help the New England give the Ravens their first loss of the season. Randy Moss’ TD reception in late in the 3rd quarter gave him 137 for his career, passing the legend Marshall Faulk for 6th all-time. The Ravens allowed 2 rush TD in the game, snapping a 4 game streak.
Bengals 23, Browns 20 – The Bengals won their 3rd straight game and if it not for that Brandon Stokley crazy TD in their Week 1 loss vs the Broncos, they would be undefeated. Dating back to last season, the Bengals have won 6 of their last 7 games. The Browns looked terrible once again, going 0-4 for the 1st time since 1999. They are also in the midst of a 10 game losing streak, with no end in sight.
Broncos 17, Cowboys 10 - After all of his shenanigans in the preseason, Brandon Marshall is the deal. One of the most dominating receivers in the League, Marshall’s 51 yard TD in the 4th quarter gave the Broncos their first 4-0 start since in 6 years. Josh McDaniels has taken over the helm as the sickest rookie head coach in the NFL.
Colts 34, Seahawks 17 – Peyton Manning is playing like an MVP through the first 4 games this season. The legend threw his 342nd touchdown pass in the game, which puts him in a tie with Fran Tarkenton for 3rd place all time. The Colts start the season 4-0 for the 5th time in the last 7 seasons and they have won their last 13 regular season games.
