Jeter Dresses Up Like Rich Man’s Christopher Walken

You might be wondering why Yankees All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter is looking like a young Christopher Walken like we did. Turns out Jeter was fitted in this costume for a new movie that he is doing with the Legend that is Will Ferrell. Hopefully it will be funnier than Semi-Pro, which shouldn’t be too hard considering that joint sucked.

LeBron Going To Be Starring In A Comedy Movie…

We don’t even mean to post about LeBron so much, but the dude doing too much. He’s got the World Tour, the shoes, that album and documentary More Than A Game dropping soon, a Friday Night Lights mixed with Entourage TV show co-produced with Ice Cube dropping coming next year, and now you can add starring in a feature film to that list.

Word just came in that LeBron will be starring in a Universal Pictures comedy called “Fantasy Basketball Camp” about five guys from different backgrounds who come to Las Vegas to live out their fantasy by attending James’ basketball camp. And LeBron won’t just be starring in the movie, he’ll be executive producing too. As if he needed anymore money and fame. Movie starts filming next summer.

Blurb: For all you fantasy football players out there FX is about to be coming out with a movie about you. Called “The League” and created by the same people that brought you Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld it is a comedy about members of a fantasy football league and how its members balance their friendship and non-league lives.

LeBron talks about his new book “Shooting Stars,” his new movie “More Than A Game” (you’ll see a never before seen clip from the doc), and him having Shaq as a teammate. The book is already out in case you missed that little bit of information.

MMA’er Gina Carano To Star In A Movie…

After getting her ass whooped by Cyborg Santos last month, Gina has decided to branch out a little bit. We just got word that she signed on to star in a new movie called “Knockout”…a spy thriller that is supposedly a mix between “La Femme Nikita” and “Kill Bill”. In it Carano will play “a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is given a second chance to use her skills (fighting) for constructive purposes“.

Should be a pretty good movie, especially since they’ve got Steven Soderbergh to direct. You should know him… he’s the same guy that directed films like: Crash, Erin Brockovich, Ocean’s 11-13, and that Che Guevara movie with Benicio Del Toro.

Now production on this one doesn’t start until late January so that means we shouldn’t be seeing anything in theaters until 2011. Those of you out there who are extra thirsty for Gina will be able to catch her in the straight to DVD movie “Blood and Bone” starring Michael Jai White, due out on September 15th. via Variety

Friday Movie: Tracy McGrady “3 Points” Darfur Documentary

Yes, this is the entire hour and a half movie. We’ve already watched it and it’s a very powerful and touching film. We give a hand to our dude TMac for making the film.

A little back-story on the project…“When TMac heard about the massive challenges children from Darfur were facing in the refugee camps in Chad, he decided to travel there.” So if you’re oblivious to whats going down in Darfur, as TMac was, then take a few and educate yourself because education is power.

New Sports Movie…The Damned United

This is the story of Brian Cloughs, a legend that got to live out a life long dream and had a 44-day reign as the Coach of Leeds United, a soccer club over in England. It stars Colm Meaney and Michael Sheen and looks pretty darn good to us. It was set to come out earlier this year, but now its new release date is September 25th.

Pics From Dwight Howard’s New Movie…Just Wright

We don’t know if you heard or not, but this offseason Dwight Howard has been filming a movie. Called Just Wright, it revolves around a sports trainer (Queen Latifah) who finds herself falling in love with a professional basketball player (Common), while rehabilitating him from a career-threatening injury.

Sounds wack. But on the bright side, it does co-star Paula Patton…one of the baddest in the game. And from the looks of our behind-the-scenes shots taken yesterday, it looks like Kanye West and his boo Amber Rose might be making a special guest appearance. You’ll have to wait until next year to see this one.
