Jordan Plays In Windy City Baseball Classic (‘94)

A lot of squares tried to hate on Michael Jordan when he tried to holler at a professional baseball career following the death of his Dad way back in 1993. Whilst many may consider Jordan’s attempt at making the White Sox was a failure, the G.O.A.T. almost did make it to the Majors.
Who can forget this legendary exhibition game between the Cubs and the White Sox, aka “The Windy City Classic,” when Jordan went 2-5 with 2 RBI’s, but more importantly got a little redemption from all those that doubted.
New NBA 2K11 Trailer Featuring Michael Jordan

Even though the animation is super sick, don’t know if featuring the G.O.A.T. on the cover of NBA 2K11 is the best marketing plan for 2K Sports. With so many stars in the League right now, they should have rolled with a tarnished-legacy but still repeat MVP LeBron James, or even everyone’s favorite 2nd-best player in the NBA right now–The Black Mamba.
Going with Jordan is never a terrible idea, but with a League full of ballers they should have tried to stay current.
Shocker: Jordan Reached Out To Rodman

After hearing Michael Jordan criticize LeBron for joining forces with D-Wade and Chris Bosh, something about his statement struck me as odd. Not only did he compare D-Wade and Bosh to Bird and Magic, but he insinuated that he never needed or recruited anyone to help his cause in Chicago.
I instantly recalled the summer of 1995 at the Jordandome, a basketball complex constructed on the lot of Warner Bros for Michael to train, while filming the movie Space Jam. I was entering my sophomore year at UCLA, and we had just won the NCAA Championship. Jordan invited several of the UCLA players to the runs at the Jordandome, and I rarely missed a day.
The pick-ups games there were stuff of legend and I was competed against the best players of that era. Grant Hill, Reggie Miller, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, Rod Strickland, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman were regulars at the runs, and I was privy to all of their interactions with each other.
There was a rumor within the players circle that Rodman would be joining the Bulls the next season, and his presence and interaction with Jordan fueled those suspicions. Rodman was traded to the Bulls in October, the video footage above is circa July/August of that summer.

Michael Jordan’s Brother Larry Is A Legend

If Larry Jordan was just a little bit taller, he would have been league. MJ’s older brother probably spent the majority of his younger life giving little bro buckets like KFC, and probably still feels that he could have been better than arguably the greatest baller of all times. Instead, he has a dome like Mongo. But lucky for Larry he has this sick video to make his heart flutter in times of despair.
Sick Kicks: Nike Drops “Air Jordan Accolades”

Even though Michael Jordan’s reign as the G.O.A.T. is on the decline, MJ’s reign as the G.O.A.T. in terms of sick kicks, doesn’t appear to be coming to an end any time soon. Each individual pair of J’s are classics and since Nike got into the business of making hybrids, like these “Air Jordan Accolades” which are a combination of the Air Jordan X’s and XX’s, the mixed kicks are killing the game as well. Jordan is damn near 50 years old and he still has the hottest shoes in the game. Sadly King James will probably never surpass his Airness in this regard. Via Sneaker News

The G.O.A.T.’s (Besides LeBron) Sunday Convo

Whenever you get a chance to hear from Michael Jordan, arguably the best that has ever done it (at least until LeBron wins a few rings), you have to take advantage. Stuart Scott chopped game with MJ about life after basketball, his time with the Washington Wizards and getting ready to take over majority control of the Charlotte Bobcats, a team that has suddenly become relevant as a legitimate NBA franchise. Jordan says that he will be very similar to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in terms of his passion and presence with his team.
The best part of the interview came at the end when Jordan talked at length about LeBron James and his legacy in the league thus far. James is currently in his 7th season in the League and it took Jordan 7 years to win his first ring. So if King James can’t get it done this season, he will definitely slide down a notch (a very small one though) on the greatness ladder.
Michael Jordan Hollers At Jay Leno From Bahamas

“I just don’t understand what someone’s name on a piece of paper is going to do for you.”
So the G.O.A.T. (besides King James) did Jay Leno a solid and appeared on the show recently for the 10 questions segment via satellite in the Bahamas. Must be nice. Actually MJ is hosting a golf tournament out there with proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish and the James Jordan Foundation. Jay Leno hits on a variety of questions and Jordan gives us a glimpse of just how sick it is to be him, claiming that he has over 1,500 pair of shoes. The Legend also gets his feet and nails done every 2 weeks, which is kind of metrosensual but nothing to a boss.
Leno also asked Jordan if he ever asked for an autograph, MJ appeared to get a little salty claiming that he has never asked anyone for an autograph before in his life. Jay’s question reminded of an incident that happened not too long ago involving Jordan and rapper Chamillionaire, who claimed that MJ bigtimed him at a party His Airness was throwing after he asked for a picture. Chamillionaire claimed that Jordan almost tried to chin check him. Apparently he doesn’t like flash photography as well.
