According to the Hollywood Reporter, Endemol USA is developing a Web series with none other than Kobe Bean Bryant. ”Dream Makers: Kobe Bryant” is set at the Kobe Bryant Basketball Academy, where Filipino kids get to learn lessons on and off the court from the Lakers legend.

Endemol has already signed up “Dream” for an eight-webisode run in the Phillippines culminating in a one-hour TV special. The package is being shopped elsewhere around the globe for distribution and sponsorship partners.

“We are excited about this series, which is not only an interactive entertainment experience but also gives back to deserving young people,” said David Armour, vp digital media at Endemol USA. “We look forward to making this format a global multiplatform success.”

Endemol USA has been an active player in webisode production, with “Married on MySpace,” “Coupon Mom” and “Vidas Cruzadas” to its credit.

What The NBA May Be Looking At In The Near Future

JSucher is new to The Chaser, but brings some wisdom and keen insight into all things sports. Embrace him like Miami has King James, or like dancers at the King of Diamonds will any dude (or chick) with a solid bankroll that walks through the door.

Since LeBron James’ decision to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami made on July 8th, the NBA has been put in an interesting position. The theme of superstars teaming together in order to make their championship hunts a bit easier is going to put the NBA in a very difficult position in years to come.

There are already many teams struggling to fill seats in their arenas on a nightly basis, despite reported attendance figures. I can speak on this from a firsthand basis.

Being from Detroit, I’ve had the opportunity to see the ups and downs of an NBA franchise within just a few years of each other. There were times where you couldn’t scalp a ticket even if you tried. However, today, the Pistons are having a very difficult time selling tickets.
The team reported that just over 18,000 of the 22,000+ seats were occupied on average, but I can tell you that this was not the case.

There were plenty of games where entire sections were nearly vacant……

Jordan Says Kobe Is Better Than LeBron

Share/Bookmark

As the debate continues onward over who is better, Kobe or LeBron, the greatest of all times decided to weigh in with his opinion during a recent basketball camp. When the question was raised by one of the campers, Jordan chose the Black Mamba. While I don’t listen to the opinions of squares with no game whatsoever, I do have to listen to the G.O.A.T., even though all that OG Purp he’s been inhaling since retiring may be clouding his vision.

I’m sure that Jordan will have a change of heart after “witnessing” the next 5 years of dominance in South Beach.

Spotted: Drake Invites Kobe On Stage In L.A.

Everybody already knows that Drake is rolling with LeBron harder than some squares at EDC this weekend (google it if you’re an old head). But the youngster is respectful, so his decision to invite the Finals MVP and 2nd best player in the NBA  on stage at Powerhouse a few days ago is admirable.

Fresh off the Lake Shows back-to-back blingage, Kobe mashed in front of the audience rocking a solid fit and proceeded to soak up some love from the largely pro-Laker home crowd. Kobe chunked the deuces moments later as Drake started to perform “Over.”

It was obvious that there was just a tad bit of saltiness between The Black Mamba and Drizzy, probably due to Drake’s allegiance with King James. Kobe’s appearance, as well as the other Lakers in attendance, felt more like a courtesy visit and PR move as opposed to a “getting it cracking” type of event.

Not to try and draw comparisons, but Drake was in Cleveland a few weeks ago and brought a playoff-defeated King James up on stage in similar fashion. The MVP not only said what up to the crowd, but also served as the hype man for the hottest performer in the game right now. Say something about that.

Lakers (Scaled Down) NBA Championship Parade

Share/Bookmark

The Lake Show held their 2nd annual Championship Parade in and around downtown Los Angeles Monday, with a much less lavish production compared to last year. After millions were spent to cover the cost of the parade in 2009 amidst the economic crisis, owner Jerry Buss decided to fund the 2010 edition out of his own pockets. And since big Jerry didn’t want to drop too much dough on the repeat celebration, there were several cutbacks made to this year’s festivities.

The team mashed down the street together on a big ass truck, unlike last year when players were divided into several small buses, allowing them more time to soak up the shine as they rode by. There was also no rally at the Coliseum following the parade, contrary to last year, when the (crappy) stadium was filled to capacity, with hundreds of thousands of fans left salty outside of the rally, mostly up to no good. Regardless, it was a celebration yet again this year, for a squad that handled their business…yet again.

Following their back-to-back titles Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Derek Fisher, Shannon Brown, Sasha Vujacic, D.J. Mbenga (Mbanged On) and Josh Powell represented the Lake Show on Jimmy Kimmel Live Friday. Kobe and Co.’s swagger was obviously turned all the way up as they put damn near an hour in on the show. Kimmel hit the crew on a variety of subjects including Artest’s psychiatrist, Derek Fisher’s future and testical size, Josh Powell’s dancing skill as well as Vujacic’s beef with fellow Slovenian Goran Dragic.

Kobe Clowns Shaq During Finals Postgame Interview

“I just got one more than Shaq…so you can take that to the bank.”

Share/Bookmark

In a display of lingering saltiness, Kobe Bryant took a shot at his former running mate Shaquille O’Neal Thursday night, after winning his 5th ring, surpassing the Big Diesel’s 4. After the legend that is Jim Hill asked Bryant what the championship meant to him, he responded, “I just got one more than Shaq…so you can take that to the bank.”

It’s unclear what bank The Black Mamba was referring to but it’s probably the same one that allowed him to be apart of the Lakers first 3 championships back in the day, which were mainly due to Shaq, as evidenced by his 3 consecutive Finals MVP trophies. The reality is that even if Kobe wasn’t on those teams, the Lake Show still could have probably won at least 2 of those 3 rings. But without Shaq, they might not of even made the playoffs (see 2004-07).

BYD: Kardashians Spotted At NBA Finals Game 7

(Some knowledge being dropped)

With the Lakers winning the 2010 NBA Finals, Kris Jenner had to be cheesing from ear to ear as not one, but 2 of her daughters have seen their Boo’s professional team win a Championship and thus help keep the Kardashians in the limelight. Even though Kim may or may not be still getting it cracking with Reggie Bush, she was still on hand (with her Mama of course) at the Super Bowl, managing to grab a lot of attention during the postgame celebration with her Boo on the field (apparently Ray-J was watching and wasn’t too pleased).

On Thursday it was Khloe’s turn to garner the attention as her Boo Lamar Odom and The Lake Show (with the help of some questionable officiating) managed to defeat the C’s to win back-to-back crowns. Conveniently, Khloe managed to jump on the L.O. train just in time, as she will undoubtedly be making her 2nd-consecutive trip to the White House this year when the Lakers go to get some love from Obama. Even though Kim is easily dimer than Khloe, the younger Kardashian maybe be creeping up on the star power meter as she has managed to put a ring on her Boo, whilst Kim is still getting haunted by that little video she made while on vacation.
