King James Works Out At Heat Facility

Share/Bookmark

For basketball players, the summertime is when you work on improving your weaknesses. This process is called “trimming the fat” and the really good ones (Kobe, MJ) work tirelessly at it in the off-season.  Though a 2-time MVP, James  is still raw in several  aspects of the game.

Athletically he is advanced and offensively  technically sound, but  he has flaws.  He needs to play with a lower center of gravity and at times  his footwork can be suspect.

In this video taken at the Miami Heat practice facility, James and Head Coach Erik Spoelstra work at making James more efficient with his movements, and trimming the fat on his offensive attack game.

I like the fact that Spoelstra is out there working one-on-one with Lebron. This not only is good for Lebron’s game, but for the coach star player relationship that hinges upon the success of this team. Spoelstra is smart and putting work in w/Lebron now in the trenches, may help their bond in the long run.

Popular opinion has the Heat winning 70 games this season, which I wholeheartedly disagree with.  Though it could be done on paper or in a video game, in the NBA  it won’t be so simple.

Lebron/Wade/Bosh still have to develop chemistry and trust, which is encouraging to seem them getting their GTL on in late August, a full month before training camp.

LeBron Scrimmages At King’s Academy Bball Camp

Unfortunately there is no footage of LeBron getting dunked on.

After getting it cracking in Las Vegas a few weekends ago, King James and his “LeBrontourage” converged on So Cal, more specifically the campus of UCSD, for the annual “LeBron James King’s Academy” July 29-August 2.

Coincidentally there wasn’t nearly as much media attention focused on the camp for Boy & Girls ages 7-17, featuring the best player in the NBA along with legends like Romeo Travis & Dru Joyce (Bron’s old high school teammate & coach and stars of  ”More Than A Game”) offering instruction and skills training that only a back-to-back MVP can provide.

Apparently when LeBron is just trying to be a ballerific 25 year old and do it up in Vegas (at a profit) it’s a bigger deal then when he takes nearly a week out of his busy schedule to reach out and show some love to the kids.

Then again at damn $700 a camper (overnight) to be down with the King, LeBron’s love does cost a (few) thing(s). More video of the King’s Academy after the jump…

LOL! LeBron James Tiger Woods Commercial Parody

You know the rules. It doesn’t matter how offensive something is, if it’s funny, then it doesn’t matter (see Mel Gibson). The best part is this dude actually looks like the Somalian version of King James.

Kobe vs LeBron: The Numbers Don’t Lie

Welp dude, ah, there you have it.

As an ardent King James fan, I’m no stranger to heated arguments with Kobe lovers over who is better. Whilst it’s hard to compare 2 individuals at different points in there careers, I generally rely on factual evidence to support my arguments. Generally Black Mamba fans focus their argument on the ring issue, usually neglecting to attribute the first 3 rings to Shaq and the last 2 to the addition of Pau Gasol (and Artest this year).

Naturally these arguments end in a stalemate, as infatuation clouds Kobe fans’ minds and they are unwillingly to look at the numbers or any other rational evidence for that matter. Well thanks to this youtube legend, the debate should be put to rest. Individuals help teams win championships, but like that Adidas campaign a while back so cleverly reminds us–it takes 5.

The bottom line is that at this point in his career, LeBron is on pace to smash Kobe in terms of statistics and wins…but even us King James dick riders know that eventually some bling will be needed to solidify LeBron’s position amongst the greatest of all times.

Stephen A. Says LeBron James Headed To Miami

Share/Bookmark

Apparently Stephen A. Smith talked to 19 people about LeBron James’ impending free agency, but it only took one reliable source (who hasn’t done him wrong in 15 years) to come to the conclusion that the King will be heading to South Beach. Smith also claims that Chris Bosh will be joining a Heat squad that already includes All-Star guard Dwyane Wade. Shhheeeeeiiiit!

If this actually comes to fruition, the move would immediately make the Heat a legitimate championship contender. With damn near $50 mill in cap space next season, the Heat have enough cheese to sign 2 max deals, but their pockets may get a little thin if they get got by the sign and trade.

At this point anything is possible, as teams thirstily await the opening of free agency Thursday. Almost every franchise will be making their pitch at King James, as well as to the numerous other ballerticians looking to stack chips like Phil Ivey and them.

The Heat situation looks a little too good to be true, and unlike the Big 3 in Boston, would be a squad with 3 legit hall of famers in their legit primes. Someone’s numbers are going to have to take a dip and it probably won’t be LeBron’s.

King James Shows Up For “LeBron Day” In Akron

Share/Bookmark

In another desperate attempt by fans to keep King James in Cleveland, thousands gathered in LeBron’s hometown of Akron, to honor the MVP at “LeBron Appreciation Day.” Although the event organizers didn’t konw if LeBron would actually show up to the event, much to their surprise, he did end up showing up towards the conclusion and briefly addressed those that were fortunate enough to stick around.

In front of the assembled crowd, King James stated the following:

Akron is my home, it’s my life. Everything I do is for this city. I’m going to continue to do great things. I love every last one of you all. Akron is home.

Although his comments were poignant, LeBron did not give those in attendance any inclination of his future plans now that free agency is almost upon us. While it is almost a guarantee that King James will in fact continue to do great things, what remains to be seen is where he will be doing these great things. Most people believe if it isn’t in Cleveland it will be in New York or New Jersey. Hopefully David Geffen has something to say about that.

You know we had to do a parody of Lady Gaga’s smash-hit “Alejandro,” by giving some love to one of the best young talents in the NBA, none other than Celtics guard Rajon Rondo. If you’ve seen any of our other parody videos, then you know we got that real poo poo. Enjoy!

King James Spotted At Drake Concert

Share/Bookmark

Any time you are asked to come hang out on stage with arguably the hottest performer in the game (right now)…well then you must be the greatest. A lot of people will see this video of LeBron James chilling on stage with Drake at a recent performance in Cleveland and try to clown the King for being both out of the playoffs, and a “hype man.” As we all know, one man can’t do it all (but he can come damn close with a pretty wack team) and when you are the King, about to be sitting on an extra 100+ million stacks in the next few months, you can do as you damn well please.

Although MJ was on this type of level in his day, appearing in Michael Jackson videos and also having those legends from the House Party movies (Full Force if you care) at the end of “Michael Jordan’s Playground,” this type of mainstream stardom is something that has definitely eluded Kobe in recent years, for some strange reason.
