LOL: Rex Ryan Gives Dolphins Fans The Bird

Share/Bookmark

In case you didn’t know, Jets head coach Rex Ryan has heart. In a single season, Ryan has become one of your bigger Legends in the world of sports. Whilst attending an MMA Strikeforce event in Miami, some fans were talking some heat to Big Rex, and he proceeded to give them a piece of his mind, flipping them the bird as they photographed him looking something like a grizzly truck driver. As a result he was subject to minimal backlash thus far, but will inevitable have to break a little cheese and kiss a few babies to cool down tensions. Following the spread of the photo, Ryan released the following statement.

It was stupid and inappropriate. I wouldn’t accept that type of behavior from one of the coaches or players and it’s unacceptable from me. I apologize to the Jets organization, the National Football League and NFL fans everywhere.

Rex definitely gets a pass for this one, and another notch on the belt of his growing lore.Via SportsbyBrooks

Ghettooh: Jets Fan Gets Debo’d And Tasered By Cops

Share/Bookmark

Damn, this Jets fan didn’t even do nothing, but he must have thought he was tough to get served up by the Indianapolis police like this. It’s unclear as to the events that led to the result, but after the Jets fan choses to resist the attacks of the 2 officers, who are trying to put him in cuffs, one of the popo decides to pull out the taser gun aka the super duper one-hitter quitter.

The worst part is that the Jets fan was arrested during a pregame tailgate, most assuredly missing the game, which may have actually been a blessing in disguise as the Green Machine got their proverbial asses handed to them. Thanks to this incriminating video, it’s a safe bet that a lawsuit is on the way for some big chips. Can’t we all just get along? Via The Big Lead

Some crafty Pats fan out there did this spoof video mocking Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s now legendary call to fans before their Week 2 win against the Patriots. The impersonation is pretty solid and worth a listen.

Jaguars Win The Hampton Cup

At first we thought the trophy that Maurice Jones-Drew was holding up was the award he got for “NFL Player That’s Built Like A Pit Bull Dog.” Turns out it’s actually the Hampton Cup, which is a trophy created by a group of brothers that have dominated the equipment game in the NFL for decades. When it’s between the brothers, you know it’s a pride thing.

The Hampton Cup was originally created in 2002 when Billy Hampton, who was working with Browns, realized that he would be playing against his brother’s Clay, a former Jets equipment manager who is now the senior director of operations and Drew, the Jaguars equipment manager since 1998.

Billy Hampton no longer works for the Browns so the Cup is now centered on meetings between the Jaguars and Jets. The last time the 2 teams faced each other was in 2006, a meeting the Jaguars also won, which means that Drew Hampton gets to maintain bragging rights until the teams meet again. Via Jets Website

Ochocinco is pretty much a legend. After defeating the Ravens in stunning fashion on Sunday, he headed out to Miami to check out the Monday Night game with his daughters and proceeded to snap up some solid photos including this one with Dolphins minority owners J. Lo and Marc Anthony. This is the second time that Ochocinco has headed out to Miami for a Monday Night game, after hollering at the Dolphins matchup against the Colts September 21st. Braylon Edwards Gets Relocated To Jets

Share/Save/Bookmark

Less than 2 days after binging one of LeBron’s knigs outside a Cleveland nightclub, the Browns appeared to have had enough of embattled wide receiver Braylon Edwards, sending him on the the first thing smoking to New York, in exchange for Jets receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik and 2 draft picks in 2010. Edwards should provide a spark at the position and give Mark Sanchez a respectable downfield threat.

To be honest, we think the trade really went down because LeBron put a call into the Browns, letting them know that he wasn’t rolling with Braylon in his city any longer. Considering that the entire city will do anything to keep LeBron around once his contract is up, this request was granted posthaste and Braylon was told to holler back 2 times.

The real question is, if LeBron decides to bounce to either the Knicks or Nets in 2010, will Braylon be traded again to accomodate the King?

Hornets Shorten Training Camp To Attend Saints Game

Although he may get a bad rap sometimes, Byron Scott is a cool dude. After Chris Paul approached Scott about having the team attend the Saints-Jets game the Hornets head coach decided to end the team’s training camp in Lafayette on Saturday, a day early, so that the team could return to New Orleans. With both teams entering the showdown 3-0 with high-powered offenses, led by rookie sensation Mark Sancez and Pro Bowler Drew Brees respectively. This should be a high scoring battle, but everyone is still waiting for Sanchez to have a bad game and every week, his disappoints the haters by not doing so.

It’s always a good thing when professional sports teams in the same city support each other. Especially in the Big Easy which is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. This is definitely a great showing of camaraderie between two sports that are notorious for having player’s fight over boos and local area groupies. Our guess is that Scott decided to let the team attend the game in the hopes of getting a chance to see Kim Kardashian’s cheeks, as this would provide a lasting memory.
