The MLB Has A Major Problem And It Ain’t Steroids…

While most people focus on the NBA and NFL problems, no one talks about baseball. They are the ones having all the steroid problems, and the most DUI and deadbeat dad cases. They are the prime example of everything that is wrong with sports today.
Yet, these are the kids that are still allowed to enter the draft early and enter the professional world of sports. The stat of the day: only 26 (including managers) have earned degrees.
Did anyone ever stop to think that the reason for all the problems in baseball is the exact same reason that they give for the players in other sports?…That young players are too immature and not ready for the lifestyle of professional sports?
Maybe if baseball forced its kids to go to school and learn to deal with the pressures of playing under bright lights…they would not be giving baseball such a black eye.
But, there will be no talks of upping the age limit in the MLB draft… and no discussions regarding the steroid problem, besides having congress prosecute steroid users and increasing the penalty for wrong doings.
And so baseball’s popularity will continue to decline…

Troy Aikman = The New Van Wilder

Congrats to Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman, who participated in UCLA’s Sociology graduation this morning. The legend actually finished his academic requirements earlier this year and decided to participate in the commencement ceremony.
A wise man once said “a fool can’t make no money in school,” but it’s always great when an athlete with cheese to burn returns to get their degree. It would have been nice if he ran in the Undie Run cause the rumor is he’s packing.
No word yet if Aikman’s graduation boosts UCLA’s APR. Every little bit helps.
