Tis Tough: Popeye Jones Gets King’d By Dallas Police

Share/Bookmark

For those of you that thought Popeye Jones’ grissues couldn’t get any worse, think again. The dude notorious for being in many-a-groupie’s “Top 10 Guys I’d Mash Just Cause He Was In The League” list, Jones got his ass whooped Sunday night by a few police officers in Richardson, Texas a suburb of Big D. It’s official, it’s not a good idea to be a pro athlete or the parent of a pro athlete in Texas.

Police officers claim that the Mavericks assistant coach, who had just returned home following the team’s sweep of the Clippers and Lakers, was swerving his SUV erratically. When they pulled Jones over, it was obvious that he had gotten a little too loose off that goose. Jones refused a breathalyzer test and allegedly resisted arrest, and at 6′8 and probably pushing somewhere close to 3 bills, the cops neutralized the threat, leaving Sloth’s body double with a bloodied grill.

The police car did have a video monitoring system on the dashboard and the video of the incident should be released to the public at some point in the near future. The Mavericks had a game Tuesday night, a victory against the Utah Jazz, but owner Mark Cuban declined to comment on Jones’ situation. Until the video is released, we can only speculate as to what really cracked, but the bottom line is sometimes is just a better idea to call a cab, or just get it going at the crib.

Gillispie Agrees To Plea Deal In DUI Case

Share/Bookmark

Former Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie entered a guilty plea Monday in Kentucky’s Anderson District court for a DUI case he caught back towards the end of August. Although it was Gillispie’s third DUI charge, the other 2 were in another State, so Billy G got slapped with the maximum penalty under Kentucky law for a first time DUI (Dooey) offender. God bless democracy.

Gillispie will have to pay a $1,000 fine and attend an alcohol-education program before he can legally drive a car in the State again and try to make it a 4-peat. Gillispie most likely celebrated the Judge’s decision with a solid game of Edward 40-hands, hopefully he played it with someone else, so after he’s killed his brews they can untie his hands.

Gillispie’s penalty is nothing, considering that the currently underemployed head coach reached an agreement with the University of Kentucky, settling for $3 million after he filed a lawsuit against the school for not living up to their contract memorandum.

Poor Billy Gillispie…Gets Charged With His 3rd DUI

UPDATE: Exclusive Video of Gillispie’s Arrest From LEX 18 out in Kentucky!

Back in ‘99, Billy got charged with a DUI in Oklahoma, which later magically got reduced to reckless driving. Then in ‘03, while he was coaching at Texas-El Paso, “he was arrested on suspicion of DUI after driving the wrong way down a one-way”…and somehow that charge got dropped due to lack of evidence.

Maybe the 3rd time is the charm because at 2:45am this morning, he was pulled over and arrested again on suspicion of drunk driving…this time in Kentucky.

LOL Video: Matt Bush Crying After Getting DUI

Share/Save/Bookmark

Don’t do the crime if you’re going to sit there and cry about the time. And cry is exactly what former Padres #1 pick Matt Bush (aka the Sam Bowie or Ryan Leaf of his sport) did when the cops popped him for DUI. Not even Diana Taurasi was crying when she got knocked for her DUI…she just stood tall and took the charge like an OG. Matt Bush over here, well he’s a squealer.

He must have been so drunk that he thought he was in Mexico… about to have all types of burritos stuck in his ass, because he for sure wanted his mommy.

UPDATE: Stallworth gets 30 days in jail with his plea deal, a lifetime driver’s license suspension he and must perform 1,000 hours of community service. Not bad when you consider he was looking at 15 years if he was found guilty.

Now that the court has ruled all he has to worry about is the penalty from Goodell and you know he don’t cut deals. Previous story below

The Best Trio Since The 3 Musketeers Disbanned

Sign. TNT will not be the same for awhile. The trio consisting of Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson will be down to two. Charles is taking a leave of absence effectively immediately because his alcohol test just came back in from his DUI. He blew a .149, almost twice the legal limit of .08 in the great state of Arizona. Now who are they going to get to fill in….

Magic already jumped ship to ABC/ESPN for more cake so he is not an option. Jalen Rose, CWebb, maybe steal Gary Payton from NBA TV. Naw we’re not rolling, the NBA on TNT is getting taken off the TiVo auto record. Who cares if Charles got a DUI, he was going to get some action. We’d rather see him up there talking about what really happened on TV.
