Fail: A Good Reason Why Brian Scalabrine Don’t Play

Any time an announcer says, “we have a (insert name) spotting,” that means you get no burn.

Tis tough Brian Scalabrine. After riding the pine for the better part of this season, the former USC star was thrust into action during a recent Celtics game at the Blazers, broadcast on ESPN, which means heads were watching. I had some action so a missed this one, but no biggie because I got my nut or whatever as the young kids like to say.

After checking into the game with a few seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter, Scalabrine was posed with the daunting task of inbounding the ball to a teammate who was wide open. Unfortunately Scalabrine must have smoked a little bit of that oxygen before the game (for those wondering how you can smoke oxygen, that’s what I’m saying) as he inexplicably passed the ball to the Blazers Jerryd Bayless, who easily scored a bucket.

Scalabrine did actually manage to start 3 games this season, but is only averaging just over one point in 9 minutes per game. After a miscue like this, it would be understandable if the Celtics no longer needed Scalabrine’s services in the near future, but Doc Rivers is compassionate so he probably gave him a pass, but hopefully not like the one Scalabrine did.

LOL: Big Baby Tells Pistons Fan To Slurp His Meat

As we all know, Pistons fans are notorious for doing and saying things that can ruffle the feathers of opposing players, especially ones that are known as “Big Baby.” During a recent Celtics game, forward Glen Davis could be heard on the TV broadcast telling a fan “suck my dick” during a break in the action. Apparently the Pistons heckler has a history of douche-baggery and was calling Davis fat boy for most of the game. While most times players can take fans taunts on the chin and brush them off as no big deal, anybody who is or has been fat knows that being called fat boy is one of the few things that will make you snap.

Davis has shed a considerable amount of weight since entering the league but he still has the look of a dude who could demolish a few baskets worth of Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits. It’s obvious that he had enough of being called fat boy and decided to retort the best way he knew how. After the game Celtics coach Doc Rivers acknowledged that he was aware of what Davis said but didn’t feel the need to punish him. Unfortunately the Don that is David Stern wasn’t as compassionate and hit Big Baby with a 25 stack fine for clowning the fan.

While I don’t disagree with what Big Baby did, I think he could have responded with another diss. I’ve always found it weird to try and insult another dude by telling him to suck your dick. What if he says “Ok?” I think it makes more sense to tell them to go suck somone else’s dick, just in case that is their thing. Via Deadspin

Square Hits $50K Half Court Shot At Celtics Game

This square just won a solid 50 stacks (minus taxes and inevitable hooker fees) for hitting a half courter during the Celtics game Friday night. New Englad area Pimps and local strip club owners who saw the legendary shot are already making preparations to try and break this trick for everything he just won, because he assuredly will be looking for a little love in all the wrong places.

Unfortunately this was the highlight of the game for Boston fans as the Celtics managed to let the struggling Sixers come to the Garden and get in that ass like Rocco, ending the C’s 11 game winning streak. This was the biggest win of the season for Philly, playing without Allen Iverson, who missed the game due to injury.

Chaser NBA Preview: Boston Celtics

Last year’s record: 62-20

This year’s projection
: 66-16

New Booty’s: Rasheed Wallace, Shelden Williams, Marquis Daniels

Holler Back
: Leon Powe, Mikki Moore, Gabe Pruitt

After kicking the Lakers ass in the 2008 NBA Finals, the Celtics were poised for another run at the title last year. The Celtics started out 41-9 and had the best record in the league, until a injury to Kevin Garnett changed the course of history. Though they finished a respectable 21-11, the Celtics were obviously a different team without KG, and lost in seven games to NBA finalist Orlando Magic. The nucleus of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajan Rondo and KG return with several offseason additions, putting the Celtics in the best position to win the 2010 NBA Championship.

The Celtics added Marquis Daniels and Rasheed Wallace to an already deep roster, and the two veterans will have an immediate effect on both ends of the floor. Daniels fills the void created by the departure of James Posey, and gives the Celtics a combo guard that can shut down perimeter scorers. Daniels can also provide quality, productive minutes for the PG position, something the Celtics desperately missed last season.

The signing of Rasheed Wallace gives the Celtics one of the most talented 7-footers the league has ever seen, and a very good interior defender. Sheed can step out and knock down three’s, and is an unselfish passer. The Celtics now have the two most foul mouthed players in the NBA (Wallace and Garnett) , and have to be wary of technical fouls and suspensions. Shelden Williams is a nice addition as well, and gives the Celtics another big body to wear down the likes of Shaq and Dwight Howard. Williams was a high draft choice out of Duke and has a lot to prove, though he is better known as Candace Parker’s baby-daddy.

The Celtics backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen was huge for the C’s last season, and 2008 Finals MVP Paul Pierce is on a mission to win another title. Pierce for years has been one of the NBA’s best players, and the 6′7 swingman is their most clutch player. Rondo was dazzling in the first round of last years playoff’s, and may be the best young PG in the league under the age of 25. Ray Allen came into camp in phenomenal shape, and sharp-shooter Eddie House has been instant offense in the preseason.

Sheed Going To Boston…Is It The Big 4 Or 5 Now?

Share/Save/Bookmark

We should have wrote this story right after we got word that The Big 3 (Garnett, Pierce, Allen), their Coach Doc Rivers, and the Owner Wyc Grousbeck all went to go pay Rasheed Wallace a visit last week…but we waited.

Now it’s official like a ref with a whistle, Rasheed is a Celtic! He okay’d a two-year-deal today for the mid-level exception. The Celtics are about to be nice! Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Rasheed, and KG! You can’t name a better starting lineup in the NBA.

We bet it won’t hurt as much now if they lose their savior from last year, Big Baby to free agency. And they already let Leon Powe go… who injured his knee for like the 5th time in his career and might be out of the League now.
