Thanks @CFlashGordon.  BTW, Baron looks nowhere near 260lbs in this video.

Baron Davis Holds Charity All-Star Kickball Game

Share/Bookmark

Socal Legend Baron Davis held the First Annual Rising Stars Of America All-Star Kickball Game and charity event at Crossroads (his alma mater) in Santa Monica this weekend. Several internationally known and nationally recognized celebrities and athletes were on hand to participate in one of the funner sporting events known to man.

Boom Dizzle raised over a 100 stacks at the function and also brought out the Li-Ning sponsored Doom truck to showcase his new kicks with the Chinese shoe giant. Playing a game of kickball can be quite enjoyable, but getting your balls kicked is quite the contrary.

Baron Davis Visits China & Promos New Li-Ning Shoe

Share/Bookmark

Clippers guard Baron Davis joined China’s G.O.A.T. Yao Ming, along with others NBA legends including 2-time MVP Steve Nash, spreading good will and basketball across the People’s Republic. Boom Dizzle was also out there promoting the release of his new shoe with Chinese sneaker giant Li-Ning, set to hit stores on August 13.

We tried to reach out for some exclusive pics of the asian-themed kicks but unfortunately our “Boom Hand” isn’t as strong as it once use to be. Regardless, after seeing the first set of Li-Ning kicks that Davis rocked last season, as well as the skilarious promo video of Boom Dizzle crossing fools in the NY, there is definitely a potential to be rolling with China’s version of the swoosh.

Whilst in China, Davis also participated in a charity all-star game put on by Yao, in support of a Chinese children’s hospital.  Video of Davis and Steve Nash at the game after the jump…

‘Melo, B.D. & JR Smith Make Cameo In Diego Ca$h Vid

Share/Bookmark

Now we told you about Carmelo Anthony’s record label Krossover Entertainment and his first artist Diego Ca$h out of the ATL a while ago. Well now it seems that ‘Melo has finally fronted his boy some cheese to get a sick beat and produce a decent music video. Unfortunately as Mr. Toledano would say, “sh!t f@*kin’ sucks man!” At this point Diego Ca$h is decent at best, definitely in need of a stylist, to actually make us believe that he is indeed fly and not just a hangout guy with a whatevs flow. But with Cassidy also on the roster, ‘Melo probably isn’t that concerned. Besides, it ain’t trickin’ if you got it.

The beat was sick though.

Baron Davis Guest Stars On ABC’s “The Forgotten”

Now it’s never easy for rappers and athletes to make the transition to acting, as only Master P has successfully mastered this fine art, but we have to give it up for the legend Baron Davis aka “Boom Dizzle” and his beard for their guest appearance on “The Forgotten.” Normally after watching the previous and current week’s episode of “Lost,” I pass out from mental fatigue but when Davis was featured in the promos for show I decided I could stick around another hour and what ABC’s version of all those CSI shenanigans.

BD did a solid job portraying a star basketball player who loves white chicks, eventually getting accused of the murder of some beezy on the show. Davis’ role was one that pretty much any athlete can relate to at some point in their career (see O.J.). I don’t know if I can give BD the nod over Master P or even the aforementioned Nordberg, but he did well enough to get a courtesy bravo.

Baron Davis Mashes Through NYC Breaking Ankles

Share/Bookmark

Baron Davis recently took some time out of his busy schedule trying to make the Clippers a playoff team to mash around New York City in a one of your sicker looking shoots promoting his kicks with Chinese sneaker giant Li-Ning. The video features some solid cameos from a few legends in the entertainment industry including Irv Gotti, Jim Jones, D.J. Clue and Common, who tries to pretend like he’s got some game, even though it may be on the Obama level.

Considering that Li-Ning does little to no advertising in the United States, besides chipping a few League dudes to rock their kicks, a video of this magnitude comes as somewhat of a shock. But BD is caking anyways so he might have just used some pocket change on this joint. Via ibeatyou

NBA Fight Night: Baron Davis vs Lakers

Share/Bookmark

Now to the average moderately-educated basketball fan, this appears to be Clippers guard Baron Davis giving Pau Gasol a wild elbow whilst getting double-teamed. The reality is Davis was simply administering a textbook “rip-through” with both hands securely on the ball, a standard resource for offensive players to get a defender from all up in their grill. Gasol is a Euro so by nature he is good at flopping, after he absorbed the initial contact, he then decided to fall back a few making it look worse than it actually was.

Now the fact that the Clippers were down 20 at the time and Davis was slapped in the face by Derek Fisher immediately before delivering the “rip-through,” may have had something to do with Davis swinging through with deliberate force. After the play BD and D-Fish got in each other’s faces, but knowing that these dudes are actually friends and play ball together during the legendary summertime runs at UCLA, it was obvious that the dispute would just be limited to some verbal jousting.

BD was given a Flagrant 1 for the play, but fortunately was not ejected, despite the objections of Lakers’ broadcasters Joel Meyers and Stu Lantz. Naturally.

Sick Kicks: Boom Dizzle’s Chinese Connection

Share/Bookmark

Mark my words, the takeover is almost here. Let’s just keep it real for second, the USA isn’t what it use to be. Across the board the World is catching up and after Centuries of trying to jock our swag, on some levels we are beginning to get surpassed. Case in point, these new kicks that Chinese shoe company Li Ning designed for Clippers guard Baron Davis called the BD1. They look like some moderately wealthy Nike’s and the logo is definitely is a cross between a checkmark, the swosh and the horn on the Minnesota Vikings helmet.

Boom Dizzle bounced from Reebok in the fall of last year to sign with the company, who is doing big numbers in the People’s Republic. So much so that they aren’t even really trippin’ on slanging the shoes in the States, because in China they are hotter than a Wal Mart….geez.

The shoes are completely custom to Boom Dizzle and include a picture of the legendary “Baron’s Beard” on the tongue as well as his name on the back side. They look pretty comfy and if BD kills in them this year, you can guarantee that somehow, some way, they will become a staple out around this way. Don’t sleep on the Clippers. Via Sole Collector
