Mike Vick Gives Falcons The Business

A huge Unome! goes out to the Legend Mike Vick, for having his best game of the season at the place he use to call home. Atlanta may not be Vick’s hometown, but it was definitely his adopted city after his time with the Falcons. After being incarcerated for those dogfighting shenanigans and getting booted by Arthur Blank, many thought they would never see Vick dominate in the Georgia Dome again. On Sunday, they found out that this wasn’t going to be the case as the Legend came back to his old stadium and did work, accounting for 2 TD in the Eagles demoralizing victory.

Vick was the first to admit that he was a little nervous coming back to the city that he use to run like numbers, with his legendary #7 still being rocked heavily around town. The initial response to Vick was a solid mix of cheers and boos, that resonated throughout the stadium. But by the time it was said and done, Mike Vick showed flashbacks of his former self and had nearly the entire crowd on their feet cheering him on. Chants of “We Want Vick” could be heard at various points throughout the game, and even though the hometown crowd was sad to see their team take the loss, the respect they showed to their former field general makes your heart flutter.

Unome! Vick Gets To Keep His Bonus Cheese

Share/Bookmark

Even though he’s played about as much as Plaxico Burress this season, our knig Mike Vick has something to smile about. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Vick and awarded him $16 million in bonuses owed to him by the Atlanta Falcons. The team initially won an arbitration and refused to break bread with their former #1 pick. But Judge David Doty, who handles a number of cases for the NFL, ruled that Vick is owed the cheese because he earned the bonuses before heading to the clink on an 18-month bid for dogfighting charges.

Vick filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and signed a 2-year contract with the Eagles, with $1.6 mill heading his (and his creditor’s) way this season, with a team option for a little over $5 mill next year. At this point it is a general consensus that Vick will be making his next move his best one next season, preferably heading to a team where he can actually get some burn, of which there are a plenty. Either way Vick is going to have a little more cake in his pocket to get it cracking on those lonely nights when spankwire just won’t cut it.
