Sydney Leroux’s First Ever Olympic Goal Helps Team USA Seal 2-0 Win Over New Zealand in Quarterfinals
USA soccer forward and certified dime Sydney Leroux picked the perfect time to make her presence felt during a quarterfinal matchup against New Zealand, scoring the game-sealing goal to put Team USA ahead 2-0.
The win puts Team USA into medal contention and the 2-time defending gold medalist will face off against Canada in the semis.
Coincidentally Leroux is actually a Canadian-American and given her parents’ split nationality had the option to play for either Canada or USA. I guess we’ll all find out this coming Monday if she made the right decision.
