Sick Shot: St. John’s Dwight Hardy Okie Dokes Pitt For Game-Winning Bucket At The Garden
St. John’s guard Dwight Hardy has been a man on 2 missions in his final season with the Red Storm. The first mission was to get the Johnnies back into the NCAA, which Hardy all but guaranteed after his game-winning bucket in the final moments of a game Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
True, Hardy may have stepped out of bounds during his drive to the hoop which meant the basket shouldn’t have counted, but last time I checked if the ref doesn’t blow the whistle (like that legendary Too Short track), then it’s all gravy (like what flows in the veins or a morbidly obese person).
Much like any other college basketball player, Hardy’s second mission is to stack some cheese in the NBA next season, and he has all but assured himself of getting some quality dough (barring a lockout) after putting together a stellar senior campaign,
Don’t be surprised if Steve Lavin and St. John’s hoist the Big East Tourney championship trophy in the Garden in a few short weeks.
Another angle of Hardy’s game-winning bucket, which shows him stepping out of bounds, after the jump…
