Oregon Needed Good Blount To Get To Rose Bowl
After missing the past 12 weeks, which is basically the entire regular season, for the binging seen around the world opening week, Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount finally got his redemption. Although Blount was reinstated a few weeks ago, he had yet to make it back on the field until the Ducks showdown with archrival Oregon State in the “Civil War.” Serving as LaMichael James’ backup, Blount managed to do a little bit of work, carrying the ball 9 times for 51 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown late in the 3rd quarter to help propel Oregon to the 37-33 win, ensuring their berth into the Rose Bowl.
Blount’s 46 rushing yards and lone TD pale in comparison to his 2008 season, when he cracked the 1000-yd mark and also put up 17 TD. But guaranteed the embattled running back is just glad to be back on the field, and we have a feeling that he is going to do some work against Ohio State in Pasadena.
