LOL: Urban Meyer Deebo’s Square After Shady Article
After Florida wide receiver Deonte Thompson got some heat earlier in the week for comments made about Tim Tebow in an Orlando Sentinel article written by some square named Jeremy Fowler (The guy getting checked in the photo) Gators head coach Urban Meyer came to his player’s defense like Champ Bailey. When asked the difference between Tebow and John Brantley, aka the successor to the throne, Thompson stated the following:
You never know with Tim. You can bolt, you think he’s running but he’ll come up and pass it to you. You just have to be ready at all times. With Brantley, everything’s with rhythm, time. You know what I mean, a real quarterback.
The quote circled the nation as Thompson was made to look like he had issues with Tebow, even though that doesn’t appear to be the case. Meyer’s blowup over the incident seems a little odd though, considering that he was close to throwing in the towel just 3 months ago, before deciding to just take a leave of absence due to stress. As anyone experienced in checking people knows, punking someone is both physically and mentally draining…like soccer. You have to respect a coach for standing behind his players, even when they say questionable things like Thompson did.
