Jew Know Me! Casspi & Thabeet Make History

Mazel Teezy our Neezy. While the Sacramento Kings were busy getting smashed by the Oklahoma City Thunder, their rookie (23rd overall pick) forward Omri Casspi was busy setting nearly every individual and career record for an Israeli player in NBA history. That’s because his 15 point performance (7-9 FG), in 19 minutes of action, marked the first time an Israeli-born player participated in regular season game. Casspi looked impressive in his debut and has a swag to his game that the Kings will desperately need to not suck as much this season.

Former UCONN center and 2nd overall pick by the Grizzlies Hasheem Thabeet, didn’t fair nearly as well in his debut against the Pistons. The first Tanzanian-born player to get some burn in the League, Thabeet had a forgettable performance, going for doughnut in 12 minutes. The 7′3 beast is a work in progress and will need a little time to develop his game.
