Ever since holding his own against the likes of #1 pick John Wall at the NBA Summer League in Vegas, former Harvard standout and current Golden State Warrior Jeremy Lin has become something like a Bay Area Icon. After seeing Lin ball out this Summer, Yao Ming hollered at him to personally invite him to a charity all-star game in Taiwan last week.
Lin’s unconventional rise to stardom is legendary to a degree, but it remains to be seen what he can actually do on the court. Lin will still have to deal with critics that doubt his game and look him as more of a marketing tool for the Warriors.
With the addition of Jannero Pargo to the roster last week, it’s going to be an uphill battle for Lin to actually get on the court. After seeing him go head-to-head with some of the NBA’s future, it’s not that far-fetched to think he could have a decent impact on the team in the right situation. Via SB Nation
