Holler Back: Jose Lima Chunks The Deuces

Share/Bookmark

Tis tough for former MLB Legend Jose Lima, who died Sunday morning in Los Angeles after suffering a massive heart attack. The Dominican Republic product spent 13 seasons in the Majors, putting up his best effort in 1999 with the Astros, when he won 21 games and was named an NL All-Star. Lima spent the past few seasons pitching for a minor league squad called the Long Beach Armada, holding out for another shot at the big leagues.

Lima’s Boo Dorca Astacio, who has more Hooters than them 6 dudes from Clearwater, said that Lima had been complaining of chest pain the night before his death but she assumed he was having a nightmare. Apparently it was a nightmare similar to the ones those squares have on Elm Street, and the proverbial Freddy came for Lima.

Video of Lima’s skilarious rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama” at an LAX bar after jump…
