After a 2 year hiatus from football, Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson is back in the game, agreeing to a 2-year deal to join the Canadian Football League’s Montreal Alouettes.
The deal was announced Friday and Johnson was even featured in a local Montreal newspaper and becomes the best foreign import to Quebec’s largest city since Andre Dawson (and his infamous curl) started his Major League career with the Expos in 1976.
After having what should of been a Hall of Fame career derailed by some unfortunate events, Ocho Cinco’s unceremonious exit from the NFL in 2012 was featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks series, as Joe Philbin gave Johnson the boot after some shenanigans with one of his old main boos.
Johnson never lost the fire and desire to play football and has kept in good shape despite being away from the gridiron, but it remains to be seen if the 6-time Pro Bowler still possesses any of the skills that made him one of the most feared receivers in the game in the 2000s.
