Carmelo Anthony Still A Nugget
If the Summer was Lebron, then the fall was all Melo as rumors swirled throughout the NBA about the future playing destination of one Carmelo Anthony. On Friday, a deal to the Nets seemed imminent, but late last night we received word that no deal was reached and Anthony would be in Denver at media day. In his own words:
“I’m here today. Whatever the future holds, it holds,” Anthony said this morning at the Nuggets’ annual media day. “I’m leaving my options open right now.
“At the end of the season, I’ll sit down with my team, I’ll sit down with the Nuggets, and we’ll talk about it. This has been a long summer. I’m just excited to get back to the court.
“I’ve never said I wanted to be traded. I never once said anything about trade talk.”
Anthony is saying all the right things now and it remains to be seen whether or not Denver will move him before the February trade deadline. The Melo Drama has a happy ending. For now.
