U. of Alabama Sports Are On Probation…

First you had the NCAA trying to strip the Florida State of wins in 10 sports because an academic adviser and a tutor who took tests and wrote papers for athletes. Sucks for the school, because they might have to give back a Track Championship and Bobby Bowden might have 14 less wins on his resume (somewhere Joe Pa is smiling).

And now the NCAA is stomping down on 16 of Alabama’s teams because they got wind of a massive textbook book scheme. Word is that 201 athletes at the school were using their scholarships to get free textbooks, pencils, paper, and other back-to-school supplies they weren’t supposed to.

Alabama’s penalty…three years probation and the football team has to give up 21 of their wins. Yeah, a little excessive, which is why Alabama is going to appeal the ruling. Florida State is too.
