Sick Shot: Sundiata Gaines Game-Winner Vs Cavs

Share/Bookmark

In the midst of his second 10-day contract with the Jazz, former Georgia point guard Sundiatta Gaines may have just done enough to get signed for the remainder of the season after hitting a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired against King James’ Cavs. In only his 5th game with the team, Gaines didn’t have his first practice with Jazz until Wednesday and Thursday in front of the home crowd he showed why he needs to be in another tax bracket. In only 9 minutes of play Gaines scored 9 points, going 3 for 3 from the field, to go along with one dime and a steal and won over the home crowd in the process.

After Gaines helped the Jazz go on a 19-3 run in the 4th quarter and establish a comfortable lead, King James decided to do work, putting on an incredible display of long and short range game to give the Cavs what appeared to be a comfortable lead. After the Cavs tricked a few free throws and held a 2 point lead with 5.6 seconds to Gaines ended up getting the ball after none of the Jazz players could get a decent shot off. With Anthony Parker’s hand in his face Gaines put up and off-balance 3 and gave Candace’s bro what is known as a grill sandwich as the buzzer sounded. Guaranteed Gaines is getting a courtesy from a Jack Mormon as a result of his performance.

Chaser NBA Preview: Boston Celtics

Share/Bookmark

Last year’s record: 62-20

This year’s projection
: 66-16

New Booty’s: Rasheed Wallace, Shelden Williams, Marquis Daniels

Holler Back
: Leon Powe, Mikki Moore, Gabe Pruitt

After kicking the Lakers ass in the 2008 NBA Finals, the Celtics were poised for another run at the title last year. The Celtics started out 41-9 and had the best record in the league, until a injury to Kevin Garnett changed the course of history. Though they finished a respectable 21-11, the Celtics were obviously a different team without KG, and lost in seven games to NBA finalist Orlando Magic. The nucleus of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajan Rondo and KG return with several offseason additions, putting the Celtics in the best position to win the 2010 NBA Championship.

The Celtics added Marquis Daniels and Rasheed Wallace to an already deep roster, and the two veterans will have an immediate effect on both ends of the floor. Daniels fills the void created by the departure of James Posey, and gives the Celtics a combo guard that can shut down perimeter scorers. Daniels can also provide quality, productive minutes for the PG position, something the Celtics desperately missed last season.

The signing of Rasheed Wallace gives the Celtics one of the most talented 7-footers the league has ever seen, and a very good interior defender. Sheed can step out and knock down three’s, and is an unselfish passer. The Celtics now have the two most foul mouthed players in the NBA (Wallace and Garnett) , and have to be wary of technical fouls and suspensions. Shelden Williams is a nice addition as well, and gives the Celtics another big body to wear down the likes of Shaq and Dwight Howard. Williams was a high draft choice out of Duke and has a lot to prove, though he is better known as Candace Parker’s baby-daddy.

The Celtics backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen was huge for the C’s last season, and 2008 Finals MVP Paul Pierce is on a mission to win another title. Pierce for years has been one of the NBA’s best players, and the 6′7 swingman is their most clutch player. Rondo was dazzling in the first round of last years playoff’s, and may be the best young PG in the league under the age of 25. Ray Allen came into camp in phenomenal shape, and sharp-shooter Eddie House has been instant offense in the preseason.

You’re about to start seeing us using this term “work,” but don’t get it confused with just a girl being a dime…it’s so much more. All the work we feature is so much more than just a cute face… this title is strictly for the girls that are like Kobe… and actually doin’ work.

So get ready to see more of them from us because we have some bad ones in the vault just waiting to be seen. For now, just check out our “SKOOL WORK” section and get ready for the “Pro Work” section debut.

The Worst NBA Free Agent Signing…Plus The Latest

Share/Save/Bookmark

Andrea Bargnani, 5 years for $50 mill…that’s how much the Raptors gave him. That means they are paying him well over $122,000 a game for 15 points, 5 boards and one block worth of work. This is just as bad as the Cavs giving Varejao a $7 mill a year deal for 9 points and 7 rebounds a game.

But other than that overpriced signing, the Cavs have came up this offseason. They got Shaq, Varejao coming back, and they added Anthony Parker (Candace Parker’s brother) from Toronto. He’s 6-6, a decent defender, and he has a wet jimmy…dude is shooting over 40% from 3 for his career and is just what the Cavs needed.

And in role player free agent news…the boy Antonio McDyess signed with the Spurs, where old players go to try and win a ring. And Dahntay Jones said peace-out to Denver. and is headed to Indiana on a $3 million a year contract.

Guess Who’s Bizzack…Candace Parker

We don’t watch the WNBA often, but when we do it’s always a game that Candace Parker is playing in. When is the last time you’ve known a person to get Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year in the same season?…well she did, so respect her hustle.

But last night our girl came back from her maternity leave after just a little over a month…amazing! You know she just had the baby, little Lailaa, on May 13th. And in her first game back, she gave the Mercury 6 points, 4 boards, and 2 assist. The Sparks lost, but at least the face of the WNBA is back.

BET Awards JerseyChaser Coverage…

The BET Awards were cracking last night! And just in case you missed them here is a recap of them the JerseyChaser way…There were only two awards given away to athletes last night, one for best male athlete and the other for best female.

And as you can see LeBron tool home the Award for Best Male Athlete and the triv part was the show took place in LA and Kobe wasn’t even there. I guess all that stuff people are saying about him being a premadonna might be true.

Word is Kobe is the reason the Lakers parade started an hour late…and it was all because he didn’t want Mayor Villaraigosa riding on the same bus as him and stealing his shine. Damn Kobe!

But, so many other athletes were there besides them…you had Carmelo and his boo, Al Harrington, our little knig Bobbe Thompson aka The Voice Of Lil’ Dez, and some other Laney ballers who shouldn’t have been invited…pics and the Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Young Money Performance below.

These 5 Dudes Could Help LeBron Win…

Share/Save/Bookmark

Its obvious, LeBron needs some help out there. Somebody, anybody to help take some of the load off of his shoulders. And LeBron doesn’t need much…matter of fact just about any player who is breathing will do. So what we did was come up with a list of five players, who LeBron could play with and take to the Finals.

(1) Jason McElwain for Mo Williams – This is that special retarded HS kid that hit six 6 pointers in the last game of the season back in 2006 because at least with him you know you got someone that can hit the wide open jumper.

(2) Matt Scott for Delonte West – This dude is like the Kobe Bryant of wheelchair basketball. He’s been’t in the paraplegic league since he was 18. Bottom line is he gets buckets and he has a killer first step or push off or whatever they call it.

(4) Rodney Rogers for Anderson Varejao – Rodney is sitting up in a paralyzed from the neck down from his motorcycle accident, but he still can play D and give you some rebound put backs off his head.

(5) Candace Parker for Big Z- Yeah we know she just had a baby a couple of weeks ago, but we say she can go harder in the paint than Big Z right now. Plus her handle and jumper are way sweeter than his.

New DMX – The Way Its Gonna Be

We Roll With Candace Parker…

Just imagine if LeBron had to take like 9 month off every time he wanted to have a kid. That would suck. And you especially could not have the kid in your prime. If LeBron had to have a kid, like The Governator did in Junior, we bet their would be no LeBron Jr’s right now. There’s no way he would take time off from hoopin’.

But, Candace Parker is doing and she is the female LeBron. And yes the that is Sheldon William’s sixhead up there in the video.
