The Saddest Story Of The Day…

Share/Save/Bookmark

And this might go down as the saddest story of the week, barring any deaths of legends. We are sad to bring you word that Beth Smith, wife of PGA Tour member Chris Smith (don’t worry if you’ve never heard of him, he’s a never-was) died yesterday in a car crash.

But, you know this story would not be one of the saddest story since the Rodney Rogers and Nick Adenhart accident if there wasn’t a triv part…so the triv part is that the car she was riding in collided head on with a the team bus for some Canadian semipro football team called the London Silverbacks.

And his two kids (16 year old Abigail and 12 year old Cameron) were pulled out the burning SUV by the football players…and still both in critical condition.

Saddest Story Of The NBA Season…Rodney Rodgers

This is the final post in our series “The Top Four Saddest Story’s of The NBA Season“. And coming in at number one is none other than our dude Rodney Rogers. When we heard news of him being paralzed from the neck down like Denzel in the Bone Collector, we shed a tear (while yawning).

These 5 Dudes Could Help LeBron Win…

Its obvious, LeBron needs some help out there. Somebody, anybody to help take some of the load off of his shoulders. And LeBron doesn’t need much…matter of fact just about any player who is breathing will do. So what we did was come up with a list of five players, who LeBron could play with and take to the Finals.

(1) Jason McElwain for Mo Williams – This is that special retarded HS kid that hit six 6 pointers in the last game of the season back in 2006 because at least with him you know you got someone that can hit the wide open jumper.

(2) Matt Scott for Delonte West – This dude is like the Kobe Bryant of wheelchair basketball. He’s been’t in the paraplegic league since he was 18. Bottom line is he gets buckets and he has a killer first step or push off or whatever they call it.

(4) Rodney Rogers for Anderson Varejao – Rodney is sitting up in a paralyzed from the neck down from his motorcycle accident, but he still can play D and give you some rebound put backs off his head.

(5) Candace Parker for Big Z- Yeah we know she just had a baby a couple of weeks ago, but we say she can go harder in the paint than Big Z right now. Plus her handle and jumper are way sweeter than his.

New DMX – The Way Its Gonna Be

First Interview: Damn Rodney Rogers Damn

“I don’t want people to treat me any different. I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me. I’m in a wheelchair. But I’m Rodney. I’m still Rodney.”

And we’ll say it again, damn. It just hurts our heart to see Rodney like this. He didn’t do nothing to deserve to be paralyzed from the neck down, in a wheelchair, eating through a straw and wearing diapers.

And the toughest part, he will never again feel the greatest joy any man or boy over 12 can – viagra can’t fix what has happened to him.

On the bright side it does look as though he has use of his right index finger like Denzel Washington in Bone Collector and he was able to do wonders. But, I can’t talk about this no more….I am over here getting teary-eyed. But, if you want to read his first interview since the crash read this.

Legend Rodney Rogers Paralyzed

And we were just like damn. Rodney was paralyzed from the NECK down on Monday from an ATV accident in North Carolina. Our heart goes out to his family and friends. I mean everybody remembers Rodney – whether it was for Wake Forest, Celtics, Suns, or one of the other 7 teams he played for during his 12 year NBA career. He got buckets and contributed on every team he was on.

Good news is he is alive and has been transfered to Atlanta’s Shepherd Center, which specializes in recovery from catastrophic injury and is already undergoing rehab. When you hear about a story like this, it just pulls at your heart and makes you appreciate everything a bit more.
