49ers and Levi’s Agree to $220 Million Naming Rights Deal For New Santa Clara Stadium
In preparation for moving to their new stadium in Santa Clara, the San Francisco 49ers have inked a naming rights deal with legendary jeans maker Levi’s, worth an estimated $220 million over 20 years.
The 49ers and Levi’s held a press conference on Wednesday to announce the agreement, and tweeted out this photo of the Levi’s Stadium, featuring an artist rendering of the stadium with running back Frank Gore sprinting
Levi Strauss was founded in San Francisco in 1873, which adds a little nostalgia to the deal as the team aligned themselves with a hometown brand.
Levi’s Stadium is expected to be ready in time for the 2014 NFL season, and will likely host a Super Bowl within the next few years.
